In north east Cambodia there are five minority people groups: Kruung, Tapaun, Brau,Pnong and Jarai. saomao has a range of their artifacts and has opportunities in advising them and helping them to revive their traditional crafts. The minorities grow their own cotton in small mountain gardens and weave with a back-strap loom. Minority crafts include woven cotton sarongs and blankets, copper smithing,
semi-precious gem mining and basket weaving; all these and many other products are used in everyday life. |
